Some of Trevor Hoffman’s most loyal fans are Madres, the organization that supports youth baseball and does great things in the San Diego community. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking at the Madres’ monthly breakfast meetings over the years, talking about One on One, the players I’ve interviewed, experiences I’ve had through Channel 4 San Diego and the Padres family. They helped at the fundraising auction for my book launch, made me an Honorary Madre, and have welcomed me back several times with my mom and daughter, Lily, in tow.
At a recent breakfast, I interviewed a few Madres and friends, talking about their affection for Trevor and good wishes for Alan Trammell, too. Many will be in Cooperstown and I hope to see them there, too.
Look for the other two stories on the next blog.
